Offrire una panoramica sulle principali tecniche di improvvisazione nei repertori jazz o nel trattamento jazzistico di materiali sonori di altra derivazione.
Argomenti trattati:
La melodia e la sua interpretazione nei differenti generi musicali e nel jazz. Principi base dell’improvvisazione nel jazz.

PIERO GADDI, pianista e compositore jazz
He has both classical and jazz music education, he studies in Lucca, Siena, Bologna, Livorno reached classical and jazz diplomas (with highest marks). He plays with Ivan Mazuze, Mike Turk, Bjorn Vidar Solli, Flavio Boltro, Tom Lorenz, Paolino Dalla Porta, Alessandro Fabbri, Fabio Morgera, Pietro Tonolo, Marco Micheli, Marco Tamburini, Scott Hamilton, Francesco Ponticelli, Bernardo Guerra, Raciel Torres, Mirco Guerrini, Deborah Davis, Ruben Chaviano, Alfred Kramer, Helder Gonzaga, Stelio Mondlane.
From 1998 leds the Inter Nos Quartet and write the music of his repertorie. The quartet plays in many italian festivals like “Toscana Jazz” and records two works “Por Rufina Amaya” and “Figure sullo sfondo”. In 2004 he plays in Sicily for Yamaha Italia and plays in Cannes, France. From 2003 is Organizational Manager of the italian edition of “International Academy of Music”. In 2006 and 2008 he plays in Monaco di Baviera. Plays with “Marco Cattani Group” with Karima Ammar and Petra Magoni. He plays with the cuban violinist Ruben Chaviano both original and traditional music from southamerica, influenced by classical and jazz music. In 2005 founded the Jubilum Jazz Chorus, a jazz-gospel chorus. It won the First Prize at International Music Competition of Asti in 2012 and also the First Prize in Piombino “Riviera Etrusca” in 2017. With the chorus records for “Vinile” “Amazing Grace” and “Jubilum Jazz Christmas”. With Fabrizio Desideri and Paolino Dalla Porta founded a trio in 2008 and play in national festivals. In 2014 is one of the founders of C.R.I.G., a jazz group that deals with Popular music from Garfagnana, he plays in “Bargajazz”, “Anfiteatrojazz”, “Massarosajazzfest”; C.R.I.G. recorded his first Cd in 2015 with a book published from “Effigi”. He plays in duo, clarinet and piano, with Fabrizio Desideri arranging latinjazz music in this projest called “Por una cabeza”. He had teach jazz piano for 5 years at “Luigi Boccherini” high music culture institute of Lucca; from 2008 teaches piano jazz at “Pietro Mascagni” high music culture institute of Livorno. From 2014 also at La Spezia Conservatory.
In 2018 he forms the Desideri-Gaddi quartet which also includes Francesco Petreni and Filippo Pedol with whom he plays in various festivals (“Mutazioni” and “Musica nelle Apuane”). He plays in various other projects as a guest in both combo and Big band.
He plays in the Italian quartet of Ivan Mazuze with Francesco Ponticelli and Bernardo Guerra in the summer of 2019.
In December 2019 he was invited to play in Africa at the "Mozambique Music Meeting" in Maputo with the African quintet of saxophonist Ivan Mazuze.
In 2020 he founded the Piero Gaddi Quartet with which he plays original music (with F. Desideri, F. Pedol and A. Beninati). With the group in the same year he made his debut at Pisa Jazz and recorded "Opus One" (Vinyl Records) hosting the Norwegian guitarist Bjorn Solli. He plays with his quartet with Solli as a guest in some jazz festivals including "Spejazz" 2020, jazz festival in La Spezia, in Montevarchi at the "Terre d’Arezzo" festival, in Trento in "Trentino jazz" festival.
