Rules

International Music Master Classes “LuccaEstate2011” and the 11th “Città di Lucca” Chamber Music Festival are organized by the Sinfonia Music School and the Lucca’s Conservatory, “Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Luigi Boccherini”. The two events will take place in the Historical Centre of Lucca Town, from 21th August to 14th September 2011. The courses can be attended by musicians of any nationality, either as active participants or as listeners. The students will have many practice rooms at their disposal. In addition, a piano accompanist will be available for every single class: students who wish to bring their own pianist will have to apply as a duo. The program of all courses is free.
Students applying for courses in which also an assistant professor is involved will receive 5 lessons; for courses held by one teacher the lessons will be 4. Chamber music courses (Trio Tchaikowsky, Masi e Quartetto di Fiesole) are intended for formed ensembles; Chamber Music Workshops instead can be attended by students who wish to have a chamber music experience, either by those who are admitted to solo instrument courses or other students not applying for any other MasterClass. The programs and the type of the ensembles available for these workshops will be put on www.scuolasinfonia.it by the end of May 2011.
Students will be given the possibility of performing in many concerts and their names will appear on the main Festival advertisements. Furthermore, the best students will be brought to the attention of important Concert Associations which have offered their availability for some concerts during the 2011/2012 musical season. At the end of the courses, students will be awarded certificates of attendance.

Students will be given the possibility of performing in many concerts, in relation to which their names will appear on the main Festival advertisements. Furthermore, the best students will be brought to the attention of important Concert Associations that have offered their availability for some concerts of the 2010/2011 musical season. At the end of the courses, students will be awarded certificates of attendance.

ENROLLEMENT

To enroll at courses, it is necessary to send the application form attached to this notice (or to be downloaded from the websites: www.scuolasinfonia.it or www.boccherini.it) within 10th August 2011, through mail at : Scuola di Musica Sinfonia – Via Nazario Sauro, 527 – 55100 Lucca (Italy), or through fax at +39 0583.31.20.52, or email: scuola.sinfonia@tin.it with the proof of payment of the INSCRIPTION FEE of: € 100,00 for soloists; € 140,00 for duos; € 165,00 for trios; € 180,00 for quartets; € 200,00 for quintets. The fee is non refundable unless courses are cancelled and must be paid by a bank account transfer to the account of “Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Pisa e Livorno”, in the subsidiary of Porta Elisa, which IBAN CODE is: IT88V0620013707000000139033, and B.I.C. CODE is: BPALIT3LXXX. A short curriculum is requested. In addition to the inscription fee, effective enrolled students are required to pay the COURSE FEE on the first day of the course (this amount is indicated below). For listeners of the instrumental classes, no extra fee is required apart from the first applying fee of € 100,00. Additional lessons are possible and are to be directly agreed on with the teachers.

ACCOMODATION

Accommodation for students will be available in the beautiful “Ostello San Frediano” (San Frediano Hostel), in the Historical Center of Lucca. The rates for Sinfonia Music School’s students are as follow: − only overnight stay in a max. 6 bed room, with internal services: € 20,00 per person per night.− only overnight stay in a four bed room, with internal services: € 100,00 per room per night.− only overnight stay in a three bed room, with internal services: € 75,00 per room per night− only overnight stay in a double room, with internal services: € 55,00 per room per night Furthermore, the students will benefit from the following special services: making of beds, courtesy services, and free card for the entrance in the Hostel. Meal service: Breakfast € 3,00 and Dinner € 11,00. The students will be agreed to choose whether to benefit from the meal service or not at their arrival. Towels are not included.
